Florida Linguistics Press

The FLP (Florida Linguistics Press) is the publishing arm of the FLA (Florida Linguistics Association).  Our editorial committee accepts submissions from member and nonmember writers of linguistic/academic, as well as non-linguistic titles with international and/or language themes.  We can work with writers on publication of course manuals, textbooks, and creative titles.  FLP publications are contracted through the FLA to send nearly all royalties back to the author, with only a small contribution to the non-profit FLA, to assist in our operation costs.  The FLA proudly stands behind our publications, assisting in appropriate and professional marketing promotions for our titles, as well as author assistance in editing and publication/distribution logistics.  We can work with authors who wish to retain intellectual and future publication rights to their material.  Please contact us directly for inquiries and submission guidelines at fla@floridalinguistics.com

The FLA is launching its press in 2013 and is currently excepting inaugural title submissions.  The FLP will be a public service and social benefit press, where title copyright and profit will be retained by the original author of the submission, in keeping with our non-profit and academic social benefit mission.  We are accepting submissions of the following varieties:

  • poetry, fiction, and other literary material that involves “language meshing” and/or linguistic, language, multi-cultural themes
  • teaching manuals and other educational material
  • textbooks
